This online applied linguistics degree is broken down into 3 main sections: core linguistics courses, language studies electives, and the applied linguistics specialization. The core courses provide an advanced study of semantics, pragmatics, morphology, phonology, phonetics, and syntax. You’ll also explore various aspects of second language acquisition, including language program models, learning theory, and relevant language policies.

In addition to completing 2 free-elective courses, you’ll explore the practical uses of linguistics within the applied linguistics specialization. For example, you can learn how to apply linguistic concepts in English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) settings.
