NOTES AND CONDITIONS - PLEASE READ

Average Completion Time: Completion time based on a full-time schedule. Programs will take longer for part-time students to complete.

Completion Time—12 Months: Requires 90 credits from prior ASN/ADN as well as prior learning credits (5 each) for the Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences core requirements. Students are advised to complete one 6-credit course plus 8 modular credits per term for the first term and two 6-credit courses plus 8 modular credits per term for the second, third, and fourth terms to complete within 12 months. NU300 may only be taken in the first term along with modular credits. Students may combine NU497 and NU498 in the fourth term to complete in fewer than five terms. Students who have not met prerequisite requirements may need to complete more than the required 180 quarter credit hours to fulfill degree plan requirements. The current program features a revised degree plan and thus historic data on time to completion are not available.

Completion Time—BSN: Program may take longer for part-time students, students who take leaves of absence or drop and return, and students with a prior diploma/certificate vs. an associate's degree to complete. The number of required credits may vary depending on completion of prerequisites to take the bachelor's degree courses, which could affect how long it will take to complete the program. Fifty percent of 2021–2022 graduates completed the program in 18 months or less (Source: Purdue Global Office of Reporting and Analysis, March 2023).

Employment, Career Advancement, and Professional Licensing: Purdue Global cannot guarantee employment or career advancement. Graduates must meet state licensing and certification requirements and pass the NCLEX-RN® exam to become a registered nurse. NCLEX is a registered trademark of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

Please note that most states require nurses to be nationally certified and to have completed an accredited graduate nursing program in order to obtain licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse. Each national certification provider and state Board of Nursing will have eligibility requirements in addition to these educational requirements, such as passing a criminal background check. Students are responsible for determining whether they are eligible for state Board of Nursing approval and certification as an advanced practice registered nurse in their state. Students can obtain additional information from their state's Board of Nursing, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Licensure-track programs may limit enrollment to students in certain states; please refer to Licensure and State Authorization for information on licensure, state authorizations, and program availability.

ExcelTrack®: ExcelTrack® is designed to advance your progress based on existing knowledge; however, degree pace and time and cost savings will vary by individual. Students must enroll in a minimum number of credits per term to remain eligible for financial aid. Refer to the Financial Information section of the University Catalog for additional information. Enrollees in either option will pay a per-term resource fee and program-specific fees. MSN and certificate programs include traditional clinical/practicum and final project courses; tuition for these courses is charged at the standard per-credit rate.

Experiential Learning Savings: In 2021–2022, incoming Purdue Global students who passed EL206 and submitted a portfolio for evaluation earned an average of 33 quarter credit hours toward their Purdue Global undergraduate degrees. Based on these experiential learning credits, tuition savings for nonmilitary students were on average $10,743.00. Tuition savings calculated as 33 quarter credit hours x standard tuition rate of $371.00 = $12,243.00 - $1,500.00 course fee = $10,743.00. Savings for students vary depending on the student’s individual prior learning experience. Savings for 2021–2022 incoming Indiana students who passed EL206 and submitted a portfolio for review were $9,700. Savings for 2021–2022 incoming military students who passed EL206 and submitted a portfolio for review ranged from $3,945.00 to $6,090.00. Eligible college credits articulate into Purdue Global undergraduate degree plans. Savings dependent on credit awards, which are dependent on individual circumstances.
