Pursuing a Master of Science in Psychology from Purdue Global offers you an opportunity to blend the rich, academic tradition of psychology with the contemporary applications of science. You will focus on the processes that underlie the individual human experience and behavior, as well as core knowledge, theories, and research in the field.

Prepare for Diverse Opportunities

Working as a psychologist generally requires a doctoral degree; however, with a master's degree in psychology you may qualify for many jobs in community behavioral or mental health centers, vocational rehabilitation centers, and correctional programs.

Concentrations

In addition to helping you develop a broad foundation in psychology, our master's degree program is designed to enhance your knowledge in the area of concentration that best fits your career and educational goals. Many of our concentrations also include a practicum course to help you gain hands-on experience in the field.

Addictions

Study the principles of addictions and group counseling, psychopharmacology, and co-occurring disorders and learn to apply them to guide clients toward recovery.

The Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) has designated Purdue Global as an Approved Education Provider. Students who complete the addictions concentration will meet the coursework requirements to take the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals’ Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) examination. Note that additional requirements must also be completed to take the MAC examination, including degree, field experience, and licensure requirements. Refer to www.naadac.org/ncc-ap for full eligibility requirements.

Forensic Psychology

Study roles and responsibilities within forensic psychology, as well as the legal, diversity-related, sociocultural, and ethical issues faced by practitioners in the field. Learn to apply evidenced-based psychological theories and concepts of forensic psychology to develop strategies that advocate for populations in settings across the criminal and civil legal systems.

Prepare for a variety of nonclinical roles assisting criminal investigative analysis and profiling, jury selection, corrections and jail issues, court cases, victim advocacy, and more.

General Psychology

Examine broad aspects of psychology, including behavioral approaches, neuropsychology, psychopathology, and cognitive psychology.

Industrial/Organizational Psychology

Apply psychological principles to the business world and explore the theories, methods, and practice of industrial/organizational psychology. Study how to influence workplace motivation and attitude, employee training, evaluation and leadership, organizational behavior, and human resources.
